With Thanksgiving behind us and more major holidays around the corner, let’s talk about a different approach to living well with diabetes.
About the speaker
Jane K. Dickinson is a registered nurse and certified diabetes educator who knows diabetes both personally and professionally. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1975, Jane spent several summers at diabetes camp as a camper, counselor and nurse. Later she served as the Director of Clinical Services and Education at The Barton Center for Diabetes Education. In 2000, Jane developed the Diabetes Education Program at YVMC, which she oversaw for 12 years. While continuing to serve as a diabetes resource for the hospital, Jane is currently the program coordinator and faculty for the Diabetes Education and Management Masters Program at Teachers College Columbia University. She lives here in Steamboat Springs and works remotely, teaching courses and administering the program. In her spare time, Jane loves to walk, write, travel, listen to music, watch movies, and spend time with her husband and two children.
