Predators: A conversation with ecologist George Wuerthner

Yampa Valley Sustainability Council, the Sustainability Studies program at Colorado Mountain College, Yampatika and the Bud Werner Memorial Library present an evening with the Foundation for Deep Ecology's Senior Scientist and Ecological Projects Director, George Wuerthner.

Mr. Wuerthner will talk about predators and their relationship to basic ecological issues, including how indiscriminate killing may increase human conflicts by disrupting carnivores' social relationships.

About the speaker
George Wuerthner is an ecologist, writer, and photographer who has published 36 books on natural history, conservation and environmental issues. He is is currently senior scientist and ecological projects director for the Foundation for Deep Ecology/Tompkins Conservation. Among his published works are Wildfire: A Century of Failed Forest Policy, Energy: Overdevelopment and Delusion of Endless Growth, and Rocky Mountain--A Visitor's Companion. He specializes in a number of broad areas including forest/wildfire ecology, predator ecology, livestock grazing, conservation history and energy topics.

Off the Beaten Path Bookstore will be on site with copies of George Wuerthner's books for sale and author signing after the talk.
