2013 Newbery and Caldecott Winners

Well, I was wrong. Wonder by RJ Palacio, did not win the Newbery this year, not even an honor medal! However, these fabulous books did!

2013 Newbery Award Winner - for the best literature written for children:

 The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Appelgate

Newbery Honor Books:

Splendors and Glooms by Amy Schlitz

Three Times Lucky by Sheila Turnage

 

2013 Caldecott Award Winner - to the artist of the best illustrated picture book:

This is Not My Hat by Jon Klaasen

Caldecott Honor Books:

Extra Yarn by Mac Barnett AND Jon Klaasen (double winner!)

Creepy Carrots by Peter Brown
