About Me

Libby
I play hockey and I love reading fictional books. I am going into seventh grade at Steamboat Springs Middle School. I want to be a television journalist when I am older. I usually read any type of books, and I think that only super-super fans of Harry Potter dress up as characters and are the first ones in during the Midnight-Showing (my sister dressed up as Hermione, and I as Luna.)

Deadly little secret : a touch novel

This book is not for the faint of heart. I would think you should start reading this book in the morning, because you will not be able to put it down. This is a book about a girl who meets a boy who everyone says is a killer, and she starts getting weird messages from a stalker. She trusts the boy, and tells her that she is in great danger. I like this book because it doesn't only talk about a stalker and superhuman abilities, but about teenage drama. My friend, and avid reader, suggested it to me, and now we are both recommending books to each other and reading the entire Touch series, so there shall be more reviews to come!

As the first book in the House of Night novels, Marked got me hooked to the series. Compelling from the first paragraph, I finished it in one day. Like most books for teens now a days, this book is about vampires and romance. But there is tons of action too. I would recremmend this to anyone who is in to trying new things and vampires. Basically anyone who is on Team Edward.

Angel : a Maximum Ride novel
Patterson, James, 1947-

Ok, this is one of those books everyone should read. I have read each book about 2 times. Now I am just waiting for the movies! As the second-to-last book of the Maximum Ride series, you will find yourself swooping and soaring with the Flock. Like me, you will probably find yourself yelling at the stupid characters, and mentally high-fiving the smart ones. Just read the books! Lol I promise after you read this series/book your life will be complete.

The art of racing in the rain : a novel

I VOTE YOU GO TO THE LIBRARY AND GET THIS BOOK. YES. RIGHT NOW. Truthfully, I think that there is no difference between good and bad books, only the difference between good and bad authors. Some authors, while writing the book, are willing to risk killing off the main characters, this is a huge risk because you have to write the character's death just right, or the book will be horrible. I am not ashamed to say that when I was reading this book I was crying from the 6th grade wing, to the lunch room, then to the school's library. This book was so beautifully written, it was as if that after you read it you see through a dog's eyes. (By the way I did not spoil the book when I said that the main character will die, the main character figures that out in the first chapter.) Yes, the main character is a dog named Enzo, and no, that does not mean that the book is childish and stupid, in my mind I think it makes the book better. Throughout the book, Enzo is sure that when he dies, he will turn into a human, and though he will miss his family, he knows that he will see them again in his next life. He is one who is not afraid of death, and like Peter Pan said, "To die would be an awfully great adventure." I have to admit, I cheated on this book. I read the last chapter. I know, that's like a crime against nature, but that was when I cried, and cried, and cried. This book is not all about Enzo, it's about his owner, and the troubles they go through. Those who like Marley and Me, read this, in my opinion it's ten times better.

Maximum Ride : the angel experiment

THE BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD!!! This is not only my favorite book, but once you read it it will be your's too! Flying along with the 98 percent human, 2 percent avian kids, Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel will push you to read the whole series, or maybe write some flying-kid books of your own! All in all, just read these awesome books (:

Virals
Reichs, Kathy.

This is one of these books that everyone will love! For some, it's the fact that the main charaters are on a mystery trying to find out why they found human remains buried on Loggerhead Island, others like the fact that the main characters have been exposed to canine parvo, and have recieved 'powers' where if exposed to extreme emotion, their senses will be ten times those of a normal human. For people like me, who have already gone to the library to get this book at the mention of the two factors above, you would like the idea that there is a heroine who leads the rest of the Virals. For those who love Maximum Ride, Witch and Wizard, mysteries, and/or Crime shows/books(Actually the author wrote another book and I'm pretty sure the director of 'BONES' read it then got inspired to make that show.) I would suggest that you run to the library to get that book!

I am a HUGE Twilight fan, but after I started reading this series, Twilight got completely washed out of my mind. (Except for the part in the movies where Jacob takes his shirt off!) Don't get me wrong, they are both super good series, but I think House of Night is a little better than Twilight! It's not too lovey-dovey, but House of Night doesn't have too much action. It's not too touche, but just a perfect blend of all things that are good in books. People who don't get completely sucked into romance books should read this series. Stevie Ray is busy dealing with her red fledging problems, Zoey has to get her shattered soul back togethor, and Aphrodite had to get used her new powers.
I would recremend this book to anyone.
