About Me

Leah
I was born in Boise, Idaho. This is my fifth year in steamboat. I missed boise at first but I love living in steamboat now. I snowboard and play soccer and tennis and volleyball. I usually read fantasy and Eva Ibbotson is one of my favorite authors. I also like Jeanne Birdsall's Penderwick series. I also love to listen to music.

This is another simple story with details. Its about a girl called Minli. Her family lives in a small, poor village that slogs in fields of mud and plants rice for a living. The mother is unhappy with their fortune and her unhappiness starts to grow in her daughter to. Inspired by the stories that her father tells, she runs off to find "The Man of the Moon" who lives on never ending mountain. Read the book to learn about the rest of her journey.

This is another fantasy. :) Its about a family called Heap. They had a seventh son of a seventh son, which is supposed to be really magykal, but he died. Or did he? You'll have to read it and find out.

Little women
Alcott, Louisa May, 1832-1888.

This is a homey sort of book. It's kind of old fashioned. I like reading it just because its so simple. Not like "Jo walked to the store to get eggs" simple, but still simple with details and like I said, homey.

Island of the aunts
Ibbotson, Eva.

I read this book like 100 times in a row. The story is about 2 kids who get kidnapped by "aunts" and taken to a magical island. It's fantasy. If you read it and like it check out other Eva Ibbotson books.

The Penderwicks : a summer tale of four sisters, two rabbits, and a very interesting boy
Birdsall, Jeanne.

I love this book. It's a refreshing story about four sisters and their widowed father. They have tons of adventures on their summer vacay. But that is only the beginning....
