The Gospel of Eureka

The Gospel of Eureka

Thursday, June 6, 2019 - 7:00pm to 8:15pm
  • Library Hall
See the film that the Hollywood Reporter called "Top 10 at SXSW" and Variety raves, "The audience grinned like they hadn’t felt this optimistic about America in years."

A documentary film by Donal Mosher and  Michael Palmieri. Love, faith and civil rights collide in a southern town as evangelical Christians and drag queens step into the spotlight to dismantle stereotypes. The film takes a personal, and often comical look at negotiating differences between religion and belief through performance, political action, and partnership. Gospel drag shows and passion plays set the stage for one hell of a show. Narrated by Mx Justin Vivian Bond.

This event is a collaboration with POV, PBS' award-winning nonfiction film series.

Run Time:

1 hour 15 min.
"A miracle indeed... Whose side is God on, we might wonder? The Gospel of Eureka doesn’t provide an answer, though it does suggest, in very lyrical, lasting ways, that each and every human being has the right to search for one."
