Moving beyond cancer. Living an active life.

Julie Lewis shares the benefits of living an active lifestyle, showing that cancer is not a death sentence and early detection saves lives. She will share her direct experiences with cancer survivors on adventurous expeditions around the world, highlighting the first and only multi-national team of breast cancer survivors that traveled to Antarctica last year .

There will be a talk and short film about her recent Antarctica expedition. 

About the speaker
Julie Lewis is a certified NLP (Neruo Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner and Coach through the American Board of Practitioners. Having studied Mindfulness, she believes this ancient training grounded into a scientific framework is "the next big thing” for developing truly effective management.  She is currently studying  holistic stress management and emotional resilience with Dr. Brian Luke Seaward of the Paramount Wellness Institute in Boulder.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Julie has lived and worked in the UAE for 14 years and spent two years in Hong Kong. Her extensive travels and exposure to diverse cultures allow her to bring a unique personal style and methodology in getting the best from individuals and teams using the practices of NLP, Eastern philosophy, sports science and her own personal experiences. She has a bachelor's degree in sports science, and background in the health, fitness and sports team management fields, and  the hospitality industry.

After climbing several mountains, Julie launched a new career in leadership through adventure training.  Since 2003, Julie has led over 50 expeditions around the globe, recruiting and training multi-national teams of men and women to embark on life-changing challenges incorporating the Power of Three philosophy. Her expeditions have taken her to Africa, India, Peru, South Africa, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Egypt, Nepal, Morocco, Cyprus, Borneo, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, the Arctic and Antarctica. Julie is the founder and director of Mountain High and is a certified Yin Yoga teacher.  She is the daughter in law of Steamboat resident Dr. Ron Lewis and the late Alice Lewis.
