StoryWalk Grand Opening
- StoryWalk Path
Everyone is invited to celebrate the opening of this year-round literary trail.
Steamboat Springs’ first StoryWalk book will be unveiled on Saturday, September 25th at 10am on the Yampa River Core Trail, across the river from the Stockbridge Transit Center. The outdoor learning project is a partnership between the Bud Werner Memorial Library, Routt County United Way’s Women United and the City of Steamboat Springs. Young children, and adults too, will literally be walking their way through the pages of the new StoryWalk® Project, an innovative and educational way to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.
Leaving his beloved meadow behind helps Hare discover what makes it such a special place in this captivating book, The Best Place in the World, from acclaimed author-illustrator Petr Horácek. Horacek’s book will be Steamboat Springs’ first StoryWalk and on display outdoors into mid-October.
