Get a Card During Our Closure

We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to get a library card while we are closed for the Coronavirus containment.  Simply email or call Circulation Manager, Michelle Dover, at, 970-367-4907 and she will initiate an account for you.

Get a Card at the Library

To obtain a free library card you must be a Routt County resident or have a current library card from any Colorado Library Card (CLC) library.

Please, fill out an application, visit the library, and bring proof of residency using one of the following forms of current identification listed under A, B, or C. Online applications are not available at this time.

A. Mailing Address in your own name. P.O. Box or street address if you receive home mail delivery. Local school or college address is acceptable if you reside there. General Delivery is not accepted.

  • Driver's License with Routt County address
  • Utility Bill
  • Checkbook with an imprinted name & address
  • Automobile registration
  • Voter registration
  • Rental/lease agreement
  • Current CMC Alpine ID
  • Property tax receipt

B. Telephone in your own name

  • Telephone directory
  • Telephone bill
  • Staff can call directory assistance

C. Property owners who do not reside in Routt County year-round with proper identification.

Library Cards for Guests

The library welcomes visitors and offers guest library cards regardless of your length of stay. All we need to is a photo ID with an address, and you are welcome to check out 4 items at a time.  Come visit the library and enjoy our relaxing seating areas, spectacular views, free public computers and free programs for all ages.
