CAN YOU READ EVERY DAY?

The Library challenges kids ages 0-17 to see if they can read or be read to every day from June 1 to July 31. Readers can create their own daily reading goal, with a minimum of 15 minutes each day. Log your reading on the paper brochure available at the Kids' Desk or online using Beanstack. Make reading your favorite daily habit!

EARN FREE BOOKS OR OTBP GIFT CERTIFICATES!

For every 20 days that you read, you earn a free book from the library or a $5 gift certificate to Steamboat's only independent book store, Off the Beaten Path. Fast Math: that's a total of 3 free books or $15 just for reading this summer!

PRIZES FROM LOCAL SPONSORS

For those participating on Beanstack, we will hold weekly prize drawings to win free stuff from our local business sponsors: Old Town Hot Springs, Lyon's, Johnny B Good, Elevation Dance Studio, Love Climbing Adventures, Strings Music Festival, and more!

ERASE YOUR FINES!

Any youth (under the age of 17) signed up for our Summer Reading Program can come in person to the Kids' Desk at the Bud Werner Library an unlimited number of times between June 1 - July 31 to get their overdue library fines waived. The fines must be on Bud Werner Library juvenile accounts only. Overdue fines only, no replacement fees. Must be signed up on Beanstack for the 2019 Summer Reading Program.

EASY LOGGING WITH BEANSTACK

Log your child's reading online. Beanstack also recommends books for young readers based on the young person's individual interests.

DOWNLOAD THE FREE BEANSTACK TRACKER APP

Record minutes read easily from your phone. There's even a timer feature that can be a fun incentive for your kiddo to read. App is available for free on iOS devices or on Google Play.

TAKE SHELFIES!

Take photos of yourself or child reading in cool places throughout the summer. Photos could be displayed on our website, FaceBook or in the local newspaper, The Steamboat Pilot & Today.
