Fly by to view the Yard Art Cranes as they flock on the Library Lawn and boogie to The Broad Band during the First Friday Artwalk

The Yampa Valley Crane Festival's annual Yard Art Cranes will be flocking on the Library Lawn during the First Friday Artwalk. Fly by, listen to The Broad Band play live music, and take a look at the birds in person, then bid on the artwork online.

Yard Art Cranes are decorated by local artists. An auction for the original crane artwork benefits the Yampa Valley Crane Festival and crane conservation in the region. The auction takes place online at 32Auctions.com starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, 9/2 and concluding at noon on Sunday, 9/4. Full details describing how to participate in the online auction will be posted in August.

About the live band

The Broad Band is a local group of women who have banded together for their love of music and have been performing locally for the past nine years. Their music encompasses a large span of time and genres with the commonality of vocal harmonies.

About the Yampa Valley Crane Festival: Sept. 1-4, 2022

The Greater Sandhill Crane is an iconic species of the Yampa Valley. Returning in the spring, cranes nest and raise their young in wetland areas throughout the valley. In late summer and early fall, hundreds of cranes from the Rocky Mountain flock join the local birds to rest and feed before continuing their journey south. The Yampa Valley Crane Festival celebrates these iconic birds with daily crane viewings, expert speakers, films, art exhibits, workshops, family activities and more. Bud Werner Memorial Library is festival headquarters and the venue for many of these talks, films and events. Learn more about the 11th annual Yampa Valley Crane Festival.
