It’s time for all of us to THINK DIFFERENTLY about neurodiversity and inclusion. Join our community workshop with Yampa Valley Autism.

Who should attend?

  • Anyone looking for a deeper understanding of “invisible” disabilities such as autism and ADHD.
  • Parents, Grandparents, Educators, Business Owners, HR Professionals, Service Industry Employees

Why should you attend?

It’s time for us to THINK DIFFERENTLY about neurodiversity and inclusion. Working together, we can make our community more accessible to neurodivergent people so we can all benefit from many different thinking styles. Yampa Valley Autism wants to give you tools to expand your diversity and inclusion efforts.

What will you learn?

  • Develop a better understanding of the gifts and challenges that come with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD
  • Learn to recognize and consider CAN’T vs WON’T.
  • Understand Executive Function Skills and the role they play in your interactions with others.
  • Come away with strategies to mitigate communication challenges.

Meet your presenters

Thinking Differently speakers

Jessica Charpentier, BCBA, and Aaron Copeland, BCBA, head the therapy program at Yampa Valley Autism.  Jessica and Cope have over 30 years of combined experience in specialized behavioral therapy and support services for children with autism and other developmental disabilities.  They have both worked in the Steamboat Springs School District and currently provide educational and behavioral consultations to school districts across three counties.

 

YVAP

This free community workshop is presented in partnership with Yampa Valley Autism. Yampa Valley Autism Program provides resources and direct services to individuals and families living with autism or other disorders to cultivate their abilities and maximize quality of life. YVAP envisions healthy communities in the Yampa Valley where all people are valued and accepted.
