What materials are available for curbside pickup?
All materials featured in our catalog are available for curbside pickup: books, DVDs, music, etc. Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for staff to pull items that are on our shelves.
Can I request items from other libraries?
Yes, the courier service that the library uses is operational. You may, therefore, borrow any materials featured in our catalog.
How will I know when my items are ready for pickup?
When your materials are ready for pickup; you will receive an email, text or phone call, based on the preference selected in your account.
It may take up to 24 hours for staff to pull items that are on our shelves.
How long will you hold the items for me to pick up?
We will have your item ready for you for seven days. After that time period the item will go to the next hold, or be returned to the collection.
I have mobility issues and I cannot leave my car.
We can provide accommodations such as placing bagged items on the hood or in the trunk of your vehicle. Please request this when you call.
My health is vulnerable during this time. Can you bring items to my car during curbside pickup?

How do I return materials?
Please use the library's book drops either at the main door via Lincoln Ave, or in the wall near the Yampa River entrance. The book drops in Clark and at City Market are also available.
I've signed up to attend a library book club. Can I pick up a copy of the book at the library?
Yes! Contact Erina Alkema, Adult Services Associate Librarian, at ealkema@steamboatlibrary.org, to arrange for a pick up during curbside hours.
Can I pick up a Book Club Kit for my book club?
Yes! You can browse the collection and request a Book Club Kit, or you can contact Erina Alkema, Adult Services Associate Librarian at ealkema@steamboatlibrary.org to arrange for a pickup during curbside hours.
Can I get books on a certain topic for a distance-learning or homeschool project?
Yes, you can use the Teacher Request form to ask the Children's Staff to assemble a number of materials on a certain topic for you or your student.
Can I donate books at this time?
Yes, we accept books donations for our resale shelves and we seek gently used copies of popular interest. We limit donations to 10 at a time. DVD's, CD's or any older media formats cannot be accepted.
Can I get something printed, scanned, or faxed without entering the library?
Absolutely! Patrons looking to print, scan, or fax documents, or are interested in our digital collections may call the Reference Desk (970-879-0240 ext. 331) to request curbside Reference services.
You may also send your print request in advance of visiting the library. Send your document (.PDF, .DOCX, .CSV, etc.) as an attachment to budref@steamboatlibrary.org. Please include your name, phone number and email address. Black and white printing only at $0.10 per page.
