Stories. It’s all about the story. From fiction to non, my reading tastes are eclectic. Cookbooks often read like great novels to me (think Nigel Slater); ditto Tom Robbin’s memoir (Tibetan Peach Pie). I lean into rich emotional stories in faraway lands (Khaled Hosseini) as much as in our own beautiful state (Peter Heller). I read to taste the oh-so-many ways we create our lives in this lovely, wild world and I get a kick out of the way one book leads me to the next in a different genre. I’m always reading at least one good exploration of human consciousness and the search for inner freedom (Mingyur Rinpoche) and after extensive research I’m pretty sure Winnie the Pooh is an enlightened being.
