Public Talk ~ The Symbolism of the Sand Mandala
Tuesday, August 9, 2022 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm
- Library Hall
A lecture by the head lama during the Drepung Loseling monks' residency in Steamboat Springs, talking about the mandala as a sacred cosmogram used as an object of contemplation. The mandala depicts the pure nature of the world in which we live as well as how we can live most effectively. By creating a sand Mandala the monks aim to bring the creative energy of that sacred dimension into our lives and attune ourselves to this natural perfection. Learn about the many signs and symbols encompassed in the monks' meticulous design that will emerge over the week.
